Welcome to Brexit Next: Legal Implications

CMS brings you analysis, commentary and checklists on the legal implications of a Brexit on businesses operating in, and trading with, the UK

Since the people of the UK voted to leave the European Union (EU) on 23 June 2016, we have been working with our clients to identify opportunities and find solutions to issues that will arise as the exit process is negotiated and after it has taken effect.

The UK has been a member of the EU since 1973 and huge parts of our laws are derived from it. The vote to leave has therefore naturally created a significant period of uncertainty. Many of our clients are planning changes to general business practices that will roll out both in the short and long term.

As the largest law firm in Europe, CMS feels a special responsibility to take a proactive approach to understanding the issues that flow from the UK’s exit from the EU.

We will be updating this site regularly and keeping you up to date with the latest developments through our Law-Now articles to enable you to look behind the headlines, and be armed with the market intelligence that you need to meet new challenges and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
